  48. I use Assempro regularly, and have done so for more than 2 years.
  49.  
  50. The assembler works quite well, compiling anything I gave it easily.
  51. However, my style is not common in that I seldom use include files of
  52. the C sort; that is, lists of equates and defines. This style works well
  53. for Assempro for 2 reasons: 1, the included macro libraries are not
  54. worth the effort of using. I think that the author produced libraries
  55. for his own use, and I find them useless. 2, the debugger can't tell
  56. which name you equated to a number very well. It appears to use the
  57. first occurence in debugging, which can be confusing. I generally use
  58. include files for logically related portions of source code. I would
  59. reccommend it as it appears to be one of the most inexpensive commercial
  60. assemblers around, and works well for the price.

  62. One warning: it uses a few constructs which are not Motorols standard, I
  63. think it's the directives for setting portions to even addresses, but
  64. I've had no problems.

  82. I went to my local dealer minutes ago to get a
  83. laser printout.

  85. While waiting, the owners of the store called from Las Vegas,
  86. having spent the last several days taking in the new products.

  89. The TT?  The owners said that Atari made a very bad
  90. move by displaying DESKSET II (?)... in their words,
  91. it was "dogmeat"... "very slow".  They said it didn't make
  92. a good impression, obviously.

  94. Furthermore, ATARI would NOT give a release date.  All they would
  95. say was: "It's available in Canada and in Europe."

  100. won't change a thing.. particularly when dealing with ATARI..

  130. I have an original 520ST with color monitor, single sided drive,
  131. and color monitor. The computer has not been upgraded. The monitor
  132. is of the original (higher quality) type and works perfectly.
  133. I also have an Okimate 20 color printer with black (and maybe color)
  134. ribbon which works, except that the head needs to be replaced for
  135. about ($30 from Okidata Inc. - it is 24pin thermal transfer).

  137. I wish to trade my system for a 1040ST with a monochrome monitor and disk drivor
  138.  perhaps an Amiga 1000-2000 system (i think the st would be preferable).
  139. The reason I want a 1040 is to do word processing with greater memory (i plan
  140. to buy a new printer as well). I settled for a monochrome because i thought
  141. that the value of a color monitor and printer would make the trade fair.

  170. board that will help the ST and what happens ... somebody starts jumping
  171. on him for having vaporware !!!  Gees, the guy has just said is is going
  172. to consider do something ... he hasn't even said for sure that he will do

  175. Be real, at least give the guy a chance ...  if you want another product,
  176. go for it - no problem, but don't jump on Dave.  He's trying to do something
  177. positive for the ST.  He has a proven record of succeeding at what he tries
  178. also.

  245. I must agree with Dave, I and several of my friends here in the Houston area
  246. have the Tech Specialties memory upgrades and have been VERY happy with them.
  247. The only problem that I have run into was a bad clock board on my first board
  248. which my dealer replaced on the spot.

  262. Well, this may all be ancient history if Dave Small creates a 68030
  263. board for the ST.  I trust his business sense a LOT more than Atari's.
  264. If he produces anything close to the quality of his other projects,
  265. he will make a lot of money (and a lot of disgusted users happy).
